Hoe werkt het?
1. Pak de lege fles en haal het etiket eraf. Eventueel met behulp van water en/of een krabbertje.
2. Maak alvast wat gaatjes in de kurk of andere dop voor op de fles.
3. Open de fles en spoel hem goed om. Dat is met name belangrijk als je een wijnfles gebruikt. Het is immers niet de bedoeling dat de kanarie dronken wordt en zijn fles onderkotst.
4. Haal de kanarie uit zijn kooitje en pak de watjes. Plak nu voorzichtig de vochtige watjes op de kraaloogjes van de kanarie. Dit is belangrijk: we gaan straks met smeerolie aan de slag en die mag niet in de oogjes van de kanarie komen!
5. Smeer de gele kanarie nu – zachtjes en voorzichtig – in met olie. Wrijf de veertjes van boven naar beneden gelijkmatig langs het lijfje van de kanarie.
Tip om de gele kanarie makkelijker door de flessenhals te krijgen: stop circa drie dagen voor je aan de kanarie-in-een-fles begint met het voeren van de gele kanarie. Eenmaal in de fles kan de kanarie weer (kleine) nootjes en zaadjes krijgen.
6. Is je kanarie strak en glad? Duw hem dan voorzichtig door de flessenhals. Pas op: altijd het kopje eerst!
7. Zodra de kanarie zich geheel in de fles bevindt, de kurk of dop op de fles doen. Om de kanarie gerust te stellen, kun je ook eerst nog een stukje sinaasappel of ander fruit in de fles doen. Maar niet te groot!
